Benue Executive Council Passes Vote Of Confidence On Gov Alia

In a show of solidarity and support,  Benue State Executive Council yesterday passed a vote of confidence on  Governor Hyacinth Alia. 

According to a statement signed by the governor’s chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, the motion, which was proposed  by the Deputy Governor, Sam Ode, yesterday, added that EXCO equally commended the governor for his adept handling of the state’s escalating security issues and his efforts in reconnecting Benue with the central government.

Acknowledging the enhanced cooperation from security agencies in addressing the security challenges iin the state, Ode also reflected on the tragic loss of two soldiers who were murdered by armed herders while protecting civilians in Turan, Kwande Local Government Area.

Seconding the motion, Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Rev. Fredrick Ikyaan praised Governor Alia’s steadfast leadership amidst numerous challenges. 

In his contribution, chief of staff to the governor, Mr. Paul Biam emphasised the importance of recognising the governor’s contributions.

Responding, Governor Alia accepted assured that the unanimous support would motivate him to work tirelessly for the betterment of the state.

He appealed to his cabinet members and the people of Benue to sustain their faith and support for his government, emphasizing the need for unity in addressing the state’s pressing challenges.
