In a bid to reinforce security across Gombe State, the Commissioner of Police, Yahaya Bello has embarked on a strategic tour of border areas adjoining Taraba State.
The initiative is aimed at identifying security risks and implementing measures to protect lives and property.
The commissioner, joined by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), area commander, Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Billiri, and the Divisional Crime Officer of Pero-Chonge Division, visited Filiya-Daja Village in Shongom Local Government Area, a crucial border town near Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State.
A statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the tour covered significant locations, including Lalaipido, Tanglang, Tal, Todi and Filiya Road, before ending at Daja Village.
Their primary focus was to evaluate the deployment of security personnel and identify potential threats that might disrupt peace in the region.
“This tour underscores the Gombe State Police Command’s commitment to proactive policing strategies to ensure the safety of all residents,” DSP Abdullahi said.
