Gov Sani Committed To Quality Education – KSSQA DG

Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani has expressed commitment to ensure that pupils and students receive quality education, as part of his administration’s human capital development.

Director-General of Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority, KSSQA, Professor Usman  Zaria stated this  at the quarterly press briefing of the agency.

Professor Zaria also disclosed that Governor Sani sponsored over 136,742 candidates for various examinations in 2024, adding that the beneficiaries would increase to 175,752 this year.

The director-general  disclosed that the state government had secured the commitment of the West African Examination Council, WAEC, to conduct the first Computer Based Test, CBT, centre in the north.

Zaria, who commended the governor for his visionary leadership, recalled that Kaduna State had been elected to four strategic WAEC committees, namely   Administrative and Finance, Examinations, Tenders Board, as well as  Appointments Committees.

The director-general also disclosed that the state successfully hosted the 62nd WAEC AGM in November 2024, attracting international recognition and economic benefits.

He said the authority had conducted  comprehensive mapping of all private schools, with 3,622 private schools documented, exceeding the previous estimate of 1,800.

According to him, Global Positioning System, GPS coordinates were captured for effective planning and regulatory oversight. 

He warned unregistered private schools to immediately register with KSSQAA to avoid enforcement action.
