Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has flagged off the distribution of cash for zonal and ward women leaders across the 17 local government areas.
The distribution is part of the administration’s efforts to alleviate economic hardship during the holy month of Ramadan.
Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Yajalo Badama commended the governor’s commitment to empower and support women in the state.
According to her, Governor Buni’s administration prioritises the empowerment of women with the initiation of several programmes to uplift them.
She assured beneficiaries that more women empowerment initiatives are on the way, promising transparency and fairness in the selection process.
“We will carry everyone along without fear, favor or discrimination,” the commissioner said, urging women across the state to support the administration.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to AljazirahNigeria expressed gratitude to Governor Buni for the gesture and commended the commissioner for her dedication to improve the lives of women and children in Yobe State.
