Renowned Nigerian musician and activist Seun Kuti has expressed disappointment over the perceived silence of celebrities and feminists regarding Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s recent sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In a recent Instagram live session, Kuti argued that true feminists should rally behind Akpoti-Uduaghan, criticizing the lack of public support from prominent figures.

Kuti further contended that feminism in Nigeria often serves as a platform for gender conflicts rather than genuine social change.

He emphasized that if Nigerian women were truly committed to feminist ideals, they would collectively challenge the Senate President over the allegations.

The musician also highlighted a perceived double standard, noting that celebrities were quick to support Annie Idibia during her public disputes with her husband, 2Baba, but have remained silent on Akpoti-Uduaghan’s allegations.

This observation underscores Kuti’s belief that selective activism undermines the credibility of social justice movements in the country.
