AGILE Empowers 163 Enumerators For Comprehensive  Data Collection In Gombe

FROM RABILU ABUBAKAR, Gombe

Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, AGILE, has trained 163 enumerators to collect data from 2,984 schools across Gombe State.

The exercise covers pre-primary, primary, junior and senior secondary schools, including private institutions.

The Monitoring and Evaluation, M&E, Officer of the project, Abubakar  Muhammad emphasised the need for accuracy and dedication in the data collection process.

He urged the enumerators to ensure the reliability of the data, describing it as a critical foundation for effective decision-making.

Muhammad explained that the task, previously managed by the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has now been entrusted to AGILE.

He encouraged the participants to uphold high standard of work, adding that their efforts would reflect the credibility of the project.

He also warned against dishonest practices such as fabricating data or filling forms without visiting the field. “Completing forms with false information while sitting under a tree is unacceptable. It is unethical and will not be tolerated,” he stressed.

In her remarks at the conclusion of the training, the Project Coordinator, Dr Amina  Abdul commended the enumerators for their commitment and encouraged them to maintain professionalism.

Highlighting the importance of delivering accurate results, she emphasised that their educational background and maturity would enable them to excel.

Dr Abdul also advised the enumerators to seek support from the project’s situation room whenever they face challenges on the field. She assured them that assistance would be readily available to ensure the success of their work.

Participants expressed  enthusiasm for the task ahead, pledging to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and ensure the accuracy of all data collected.

The AGILE initiative is designed to strengthen education systems and generate reliable data to inform policies, with  particular focus on empowering adolescent girls through improved learning opportunities.
