Boko Haram has reportedly released 11 persons out of the 14 hostages abducted recently in Shawaram fishing community in Doron Baga area of Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
A credible source revealed that the terrorists had warned them not to farm anymore in the area.
They also said the ban on farming in the communities had not been lifted, threatening to kill anyone who does not obey their rules.
Military intelligence said the abduction was carried out on February 13 by the terrorists commander called Tar, who had been terrorising fishermen and farmers around Lake Chad.
Another resident added that Tar and his men stormed Shawaram community and abducted 14 individuals, including women and children.
According to him, the remaining three victims, including a woman, are still in captivity.
One of the community leaders who does not want his name mentioned confirmed that Boko Haram and ISWAP demanded a ransom before releasing the captives.
AljazirahNigeria gathered that the terrorists had recently killed over 40 farmers and fishermen in Dumba community, another fishing and farming community close to Doron Baga.
