National President of Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria, KACRAN, Khalil Bello has appealed to the North East Development Commission, NEDC, to continue its initiatives aimed at advancing the livestock sector and fostering general development in the region.

Bello, who made the appeal in Damaturu, Yobe State, said minimising conflicts between herders and farmers, will promote peace and unity across Nigeria.

According to him, “In the light of this mission, we commend NEDC for its continued efforts in enhancing the livestock sector and regional development.

“NEDC has consistently demonstrated its commitment to all communities in the region, regardless of state, tribe, religion or political affiliation.

“The commission actively collaborates with local governments and security agencies to restore peace and stability in the region, which is crucial for the development of all communities.

“It stands out as one of the most effective development commissions in Nigeria. Its success has inspired calls for similar commissions in other regions, showcasing the positive impact of its initiatives.”

Bello noted that NEDC had played a vital role in addressing crises, such as the Maiduguri flood and had been involved in the renovation and rebuilding of schools, hospitals, roads and bridges.

He added that the commission’s policies include provision for pastoralists, such as the establishment of water points and distribution of palliatives, underscoring its commitment to serve all segments of the society.
