The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike has said that the road between Dei-Dei International Market, Karmo, up to Life Camp will soon be flagg off for construction.

Wike made this revelation during the commissioning of the 5 kilometre Saburi access road in the Abuja Municipal Area Council of the FCT on Saturday.

He disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has directed that the road be reconstructed from Dei-Dei market road to Life Camp so that the market can come back to what it used to be, as an international market.

” So be assured, in the next one month, we will flag it up. And I can assure you, before the end of next year, like this one, we will come back and commission again.

The Minister thanked the mammoth crowd of residents of Saburi that came out to witnessed the commissioning of 5 kilometre access road and to show appreciation for what the President Tinubu has done in remembering the communities that make up Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

Wike also extend this similar gesture as requested by the AMAC Chairman, Maikalangu to the people of Zaudna whose road have been in deplorable conditions for more than a decade by assuring them that the road between Zaudna to Kagini will also be constructed.

” Because your chairman has shown capacity. It is not every chairman that can come out before his or her people to say, I have done this and that, and nobody said, “No, you didn’t do anything”. Everybody was applauding him. So he has shown capacity, and he has made some requests here.

You know, in my place, when they say that “when a young man washes his hands well, he eats with elders”. He has washed his hands very well, he eats with elders. It will be unfair to us, after seeing that he has shown capacity, and we leave him empty-handed. So Mr. Chairman, because of the support you are having for Mr. President, be reassured that the Zaudna to Kagini Road will be done.

” I want to assure you, in this 2025 of our budget, every area council will have one road project. So the satellite town coordinator, make sure that this Zaudna to Kagini Road is included in our statutory budget that we are going to present to Mr. President, for him to take to National Assembly.

” I have assured you that, under President Tinubu’s administration, every part of Abuja will be touched. We are not going to concentrate development only in the city, we must carry development by the directive of Mr. President to all the communities. And that is why, since Monday, the 20th of January, this is the 6th day we have visited all the area councils.

Wike appealed to the FCT residents to be patient with Tinubu’s administration, saying that things have been bad before now, but with patience and needed support from residents all the noticeable challenges will soon become a thing of the past.

In his welcome address, Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Maikalangu was full of praises for Nyesom Wike led FCT Administration saying that as the Minister is developing the city so he is also developing the rural communities of the FCT.

” On the day of the flagged of this road construction most people thought it is all about politics or business as usual, but immediately your team left buldozers, catapillars and men commenced work immediately Our people have started reaping the benefit of this smooth road, this road have really boost the economic activities in this area and your name is on the lips of members of this community saying it is the first time they are having a minister who care about them in this way.

End.
