A property worth millions of Naira were yesterday lost as fire gut a building in Afowa Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 am on Sunday.
According to the owner of the house, Mr Pius Itabalumhe, the fire incident began when the house beside Sancta Maria Hospital in Afowa, closed to his, got engulfed by fire.
He narrated that his friend ran to call him, only for him to come outside and find out that one of his shops was on fire.
According to him, “All efforts to put off the raging fire proved abortive, as the house burnt down completely” and nothing was rescued because they were helpless in the situation.
