Federal government has announced free train rides for Nigerians wishing to travel during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
This was announced yesterday by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, while briefing journalists on the outcome of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
Idris announced that the free train ride would commence from December 20 to January 5, 2025.
According to the minister, the free train rides will be available on all routes currently serviced by the national train network.
AljazirahNigeria recalls that the federal government had in 2023, launched a similar initiative in response to high transportation costs, offering free train rides to help ease travel burdens during the festive period.
