Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, yesterday, said the outgoing Commissioner of Police in the state, Abiodun Alamutu, had contributed immensely to the security of the state in combating crimes and criminalities.
Abiodun stated this at the pull-out parade of CP Alamutu held at the governor’s office in Abeokuta.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako- Oyedele, said Alamutu had contributed to the security and safety of the state and the entire nation with his 35 years of servitude in the Nigeria Police.
He commented the outgoing CP for collaborating with the state government in fight crimes in the state with integrity and professionalism as well and the adequate training of police officers for security and safeguarding the peace of the state.
“CP Alamutu contribution to the security and safety state of our state and nation cannot be overstated. I rejoice with you, my and my friend. You have demonstrated unrelented commitment ensuring and safeguarding peace in our communities.
“Throughout your career you exemplified an high standard of professionalism, integrity in service to the nation. Today’s celebration is a testament to service in making our society better.
“As the 36 commissioner of Police in Ogun State CP liberated the complexity of modern with foresight and diligent, his tenure was mark by equipping officers with training and research to excel. As we bid you farewell let us focus on your remarking contribution in providing a legacy for generations”, the Governor noted.
Thanking the state government and sister security agencies for their support during his service in Ogun State, Alamutu said he would always be an advocate of the Nigeria Police.
He urged the junior officers to stand firm in truth and integrity and continue to struggle for excellence in the course of performing their duties, charging them to always uphold professionalism in the job.
“The police are the police and the public are the police this has guide me throughout my career and I hope it will continue as you uphold the values and the principles of law enforcement. I extend my profound gratitude to president Tinubu for your support for police which has made a significant impact on our operations.
“To my junior officers urged to continue to struggle for excellence and uphold the virtue integrity and professionalism remember that the NPF is a privilege that carries great responsibilities.
“My heart is full of hope for the future i am exited about what lies ahead but I will always remain an advocate for this profession”, the CP said.
