Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has urged Nigerians to continue to live in unity and harmony, stressing that only sustainable peace can guarantee meaningful development across the nation.
Governor Oborevwori made the call when he received the renowned Jewish Christian Gospel Preacher, Rabbi Kirt Schneider, at the Government House, Asaba.
Highlighting the strong partnership between the state government and faith-based organisations, the governor lauded Schneider for his commitment to evangelism and for winning souls for Christ.
According to him, “Here in Delta State, so many great men of God have come to this state and, as a Christian and an elder in Living Faith Church, we welcome any person that comes to pray and bless this state.
“We are grateful for your presence and the vital work that you do in fostering unity in the body of Christ by promoting peace and spiritual growth in our nation.
“Your dedication to spreading the message of love and hope in our nation is a beacon of light in this challenging time. We know that your ministry has saved thousands of souls with testimonies.
“So, your coming here to Delta State is also a blessing to us. We thank you for your prayers for me and this land for us to continue to succeed and have peace.
Earlier, Schneider said he was in the state for a soul-winning crusade and to also pray for the revival of Nigeria and the black continent.
Schneider, who chronicled how he had an encounter with Jesus over four decades ago, said he had been able to preach the gospel of Christ in over 200 countries.
The gospel preacher poured encomium on Governor Oborevwori for putting God first in the administration of the state and prayed to God to give him the enabling grace to remain in faith.
Highlight of the visit was special prayers for the state and its leaders.
