Foundation Harps On Integrity To Promote Anti-corruption Campaign Among School Students

A Non Governmental organization, Open Africa Foundation has harped on the need to promote a culture of integrity and corruption free society where accountability would hold swear in all sectors of our economy.

The Chairman Open Africa Foundation, Mr. Tunji Aworinde said if we must secure our tomorrow, we must uphold the tenet of integrity. “Integrity is the backbone of progress.” corruption steals from the future, and we must fight it collectively to restore hope to the nation.

Aworinde said this during the 9th annual conference on financial crime and governance integrity organized for secondary school students, with the theme “a celebration of excellence” targeting at equipping them with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions and become champions of integrity and anti-corruption agents.

He said the future of Nigeria’s integrity and anti-corruption efforts lies in the hands of our youth, adding that the conference aims to inspire and empower secondary school students to become champions of integrity and anti-corruption crusaders.

Aworinde informed that the conference which was attended by representatives from anti-corruption agency of Nigeria EFCC and other government agencies like the NDLEA, and like minds NGOs featured a short drama Picturing everyday Nigerians affected by corruption.

He explained that the students also participated in an essay writing competition, with the top seven winners receiving prizes. Their schools were also awarded commemorative plaques to celebrate their excellence.

The Foundation Founder emphasized the conference’s goal of motivating and supporting young people in today’s challenging environment.

“This initiative recognizes the importance of nurturing integrity and excellence in the next generation. The conference has become a cornerstone of efforts to promote integrity and fight financial crime in Nigeria .”

“We are committed to nurturing a culture of integrity and transparency among young Nigerians.”
