Flood Submerges Orphanage Home In Ebonyi

Flood has submerged the Trinatarian Foundation for orphans and Helpless Home along Otariufe road Ugwuachara of Ebonyi Local Government Area in the state.

The orphanage home located at the Abakaliki suburb has according to the guardian of the home, Reverend Sister Nkechi Nwosu being faced by flood since the beginning of wet season on May.

Addressing newsmen during their visit to the orphanage home as part of activities marking the press week, Rev sister Nwosu appreciated Journalists in Ebonyi for their kind gesture towards the motherless babies.

She lamented on the spate of flood facing the home and appealed to concern individuals and government to come to their aid.

The State President of the Society of St Vincent De Paul, Old Peoples Home, Abakaliki, Mr Lekpa John thanked journalists for their service to humanity and appealed for government support to empower their members as none of them was remembered in the empowerment of the ongoing administration.

In his remarks, the chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ebonyi State chapter, Comrade Samson Nwafor said the visit was part of their activities to mark the union’s annual event and assured them of members support.
