All Progressives Congress, APC, on Wednesday officially launched its campaign for the October 5 local government election in Benue State.

At the flag-off ceremony held in Gboko, Governor Hyacinth Alia, represented by his Deputy, Sam Ode, charged the party’s candidates to work tirelessly across their respective local governments to secure victory.

The governor, who handed over 23 flags to the APC chairmanship candidates and their deputies, while promising to conduct free and fair polls, as well as ensure a level playing ground for all participating political parties to test their popularity, urged candidates to work for the people after victory.

Governor Alia assured Benue people that the local government election would be free, fair and credible, and charged the candidates to go back to their various local government areas and work hard to ensure victory for the party.

In his welcome address, the APC State Caretaker Chairman, Benjamin Omale, said the committee played a vital role in addressing the concerns of aggrieved aspirants by ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

Omale noted with satisfaction that the committee’s efforts have been instrumental in fostering unity and understanding within the party.

The caretaker chairman, who said the party’s administration in Benue State is committed to delivering on its campaign promises, urged party supporters to come out en-masse on October 5 and vote for all APC candidates for better service delivery and the general good of the people.

He commended President Bola Tinubu, national chairman of the APC and the national working committee for their support in bringing peace to Benue APC and forming the unity caretaker committee.

In a remark, the APC State Organising Secretary, James Orgunga, affirmed the party’s preparedness for the election, stating that Benue APC has fielded candidates in all chairmanship and councillorship positions, and expressed optimism that its candidates will clear the polls.

He assured that the party would remain committed to delivering on its campaign promises, to ensure better service delivery and the general well-being of the people.
