Insecurity: Gov Sule Meets Heads Of Security Agencies

Date:

From David Christopher, Lafia

Worried over the increasing spate of kidnapping, especially in some parts of Lafia, the state capital, Governor Abdullahi Sule has summoned heads of security agencies to a closed door meeting.

In a press statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Addra, Governor Sule vowed that he will go to any length to protect the lives and properties of the people.

The governor assured that his administration would double its efforts to tackle the emerging menace.

He assured of maximum support to security agencies to enable them discharge their responsibilities effectively and efficiently, and to address the security breaches across the state.

“In addition to all we have done, tell me what you need and we shall provide them so that we can secure our people,” he said.

The governor decried the emerging trend especially in Lafia, where innocent citizens are brazenly abducted by criminals for ransom.

“Recent unfortunate incidents in Lafia and other places cannot be allowed to continue. We cannot afford to be complacent, but intensify efforts and collaboration to safeguard our people,” he added.

In order to show his commitment to tackle insecurity in the state, Governor Sule said no amount of money is too much as long as the protection of lives and properties of the people are concerned.

“No expense is too much when it comes to providing security for our people. I call on our people and stakeholders to support the proactive measures being put in place to rid the state of crime,” he said.
