Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum has taken a significant step towards restoring order and enhancing security in the state, with the inauguration of a high-powered committee.
The committee is chaired by the Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice, Hauwa Abubakar, with Sugun Mele as Co-chairman. The committee comprises members from various security agencies.
According to the governor, the objectives of the committee include identifying and addressing illegal structures that pose as threat to public safety and security, curbing the menace of anti-social vices that have plagued communities in Borno State, restoring dignity and order to the affected areas; and also enhancing collaboration between government agencies and stakeholders to tackle security challenges.
In her remarks, Abubakar thanked the governor for entrusting them with this critical responsibility.
She promised that the committee would work diligently to ensure that Borno State is rid of criminal activities and provide a safe environment for its citizens.
“We promise to work tirelessly to achieve the objectives of this committee and we are committed to making Borno State a safer and more secure place for all,” she said.
