Zamfara Police Debunk Report On Shinkafi Attack

Zamfara State Police Command has debunked Daily Trust report on police station attack in Shinkafi town of Zamfara state.

The report according to the command’s Public Relation Officer SP Muhammad Shehu is misleading.

Shehu explained that the report was carried out on  Page 8 of Daily Trust Newspaper publication of last Saturday.

 

He stated authoritatively that the entire report is false as there was no attack on any Police station in Shinkafi LGA or any part of Zamfara state as wrongly reported.

The command further revealed that the report of attack on Shinkafi town was also inaccurate.

Shehu disclosed that there was attempted sttack by large number of well armed bandits in the early hours of last Friday with the aim of attacking Shinkafi town but were proactively repelled by the  joint Police and Military operatives stationed in the town with heavy casualties suffered by the intruding bandits. 

There was no lost of life or abduction during the encounter.

The security situation in the town is very calm, with communities going about their legitimate business. While new security measures are being enforced effectively. 

The Police express dismay at the level of which a reputable published such a sensitive security report without proper confirmation from the Police or any constituted authority, when their  correspondent was in Gusau. 

The command while urging members of the press as well as the general public to desist from airing fake and unsubstantiated stories also advised them to verify any information that comes they come accross.
