Yobe Trains 100 Women On Digital Literacy

Yobe State Ministry of Women Affairs, under the leadership of the Commissioner, Hajiya Yajalo Badama, has organised a two-day training workshop aimed at empowering 100 women with skills in digital literacy and artificial intelligence.

Organised by  Ma’aruf Foundation in collaboration with Rider Option Standard Vision, the workshop  is being held at the ICT Centre of Yobe State University, Damaturu. Participants were drawn from various local government areas. 

The programme, titled ‘Women in AI,’ focuses on equipping participants with knowledge on Basic Digital Literacy, Artificial Intelligence Tools, Data Monetisation and Optimisation, as well as Business Scalability.

Declaring the training open, the commissioner, represented by the Director of Women Affairs, Hajiya Fatsuma  Yusuf, emphasized the importance of women’s participation in AI. 

She noted that integrating women into the field of artificial intelligence enhances creativity and the effectiveness of its solutions.

“The participation of women in this field enriches our work and enhances the creativity and effectiveness of AI solutions.”

According to her, we urge participants to seize this opportunity to learn and grow. 

She  encouraged the attendees to collaborate, share knowledge and inspire future generations of women to explore opportunities in AI.

“As we open this training session, let us commit to empowering each other, sharing knowledge and inspiring the next generation of women in AI. Together, we can overcome the challenges and celebrate our successes,” she added.

The workshop underscores Yobe State’s commitment to empower women with cutting-edge skills in technology and innovation.
