Yobe NYSC: Coordinator Appeal Corps Members to Observe Covid-19 Protocol in Orientation Camp

Yobe State Coordinator NYSC, Mrs. Grace J. Adzer, has urged Corps Members to obey camp rules and respect camp officials as acts of insubordination will not be tolerated.

Mrs Grace disclosed this on Monday during the swore-in ceremony of 572 Corp Members 2020 Batch B deployed to Yobe State at the NYSC orientation camp in Dazigau village of Nangere Local Government Area of the State.

The oath was administered by Justice Kachalla Kyari, who represented the Yobe State Chief Judge.

In her opening address,  Mrs. Grace J. Adzer congratulated the incoming Corp Members for the successful completion of their studies both here in Nigeria and overseas, which qualified them for mobilization into the NYSC scheme.

She said that the purpose of the orientation course is to give the Corp Members a clear understanding of the objectives of the NYSC scheme and to expose them also to the environment, language and the culture of their host Community.

“You will be co-opted into various committees set up for the smooth running of the camp. Therefore, for you to benefit from this course and ensure a smooth service year, you must participate in all the camp activities.

Coordinator appealed to entire corps members to observe physical and social distancing and wearing of face masks “at this ceremony as you can see as well as placement of hand washing liquid soap and basins at strategic locations within the camp is a clear demonstration of our commitment to ensure the observance of all Covid19 protocols in line with the directives of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.”

She commended  the all effort by yobe stste government for providing logistics support  following approval of Governor Mai Mala Buni for facilitating the smooth take up of the orientation course.

In his inaugural speech, Honourable Commissioner of youths, Sports, Social and Community Development, Goni Bukar Lawan, assured to continue supporting the scheme in the state based on its importance to the community and nation.

He commended NYSC for qeueing into the fight against Covid19 pandemic through interventions, enlightenment and donations of preventive equipments.

He urged them to fully participate in all camp activities in order to enable them learn more for the benefit of the teeming population. “The state government will partner with the NYSC in stepping down the skills acquisition training to our Youths”, he said.
