Yobe CP Warns New Police Constables Against Corruption, Indiscipline

Yobe State Police Command has urged the 280 newly recruited police  constables against engaging in corrupt acts and misconduct.

The new recruits comprise 245 general duty personnel and 35 specialist cadre officers who underwent training at the Police College in Maiduguri, Borno State.

A  statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Dungus Abdulkadir  which was made available to newsmen in Damaturu, said the Commissioner of Police, Garba Ahmed stated this while welcoming the new constables. 

He also warned the new recruits to be disciplined and follow the Nigeria Police Act and Regulations, as well as other federal laws. 

He emphasized the importance of discipline, respect for human rights and adherence to standard working procedures.

He encouraged them to refrain from actions detrimental to the force and their personal careers.

 Ahmed also said the constables will be deployed to their local areas of origin, in line with the community policing strategy, and may be redeployed to other parts of the state when due.

He added that, ” I want to ensure their smooth transition and tasked officers to provide strict mentorship and close supervision.” 

The command appeals to the public to maintain their cooperation in ensuring the state’s security and safety.
