Water Scarcity: Kano Gov’t To Provide Solar Powered Boreholes To Rural Communities

In a bid to tackles the menace of acute water scarcity being experienced by numbers of rural communities across the state, Kano State Government has said that it is working towards provision of more solar powered boreholes to end water scarcity across the state.

The managing Director of the State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), Engineer Shamwilu Abdulkadir Isah gave the assurance when he paid a physical survey visit in Kunya town at Minjibir Local Government.

Addressing the community during the visit, Engineer Shamwilu Abdulkadir Isah said that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has put much emphasis on water sector and remain resolute in tackling water scarcity in all the nooks and crannies of the state in view of the hardship being experienced by the people which necessitates the state government to provide the solar powered borehole.

He further added that the State Government will soon provide more solar boreholes in all the three senatorial districts of the state to tackle the accute shortage of portable drinking water in various communities in the state.

Shamwilu also urged people in the area and the state in general to continue supporting the present administration to achieve in providing them basic amenities and social infrastructure.

In his remarks the Interim Management Officer of Minjibir local government area, Alhaji Muhammad Yakubu Kunya stated that communities of the area will always remain appreciative of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf administration for his efforts to assist the people in the area and in particular bring to an end the persistent water scarcity facing them for years and assured to continue rally round the present administration for it’s success.
