Uba Sani Tasks Corps Members To Inspire Change, Build Hope

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, to inspire change and build hope to make a differences in the lives of their host communities.

Sani said this at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course, on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Represented by Rabi Salisu, the Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, the governor reminded the corps members that the true measure of their service lies in the legacy they live behind.

He said the efforts of the corps members, no matter how little, would have the power to transform communities and build a better future for all.

Sani said the state government would support and provide enabling environment for the corps members to make positive impacts as well as make their service year productive and rewarding.

He commended the management of scheme and camp officials for their dedication towards fostering unity and national integration.

The NYSC coordinator in the state, Mr Hassan Taura enjoined corps members to accept their postings in good faith and report promptly to their places of primary assignment.

He said the scheme deployed the corps member to places where their services are needed, to enable them to contribute to national development.

According to him, the corps members are expected to identify the needs of their host communities and engage in community projects that would impact their lives.

While urging them to utilise the skills learnt under its Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, Taura admonished them to shun vices, corruption, nepotism, tribalism and religious bigotry.

He also lauded the state government for its support to the scheme, and pledged continued partnership with the state in the areas of education, health, agriculture, among others. (NAN).
