Troops of Sector 2 in collaboration with the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji neutralised 10 terrorists and rescued 101 kidnap victims in Katsina and Zamfara States.
The operation, conducted on March 17 and 18, targeted terrorist hideouts, leading to a significant breakthrough in the fight against banditry.
According to a statement by the Coordinator, Joint Media Coordination Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Akwa, troops launched an assault on a terrorist enclave at Pauwa High Ground in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
“This resulted in the neutralisation of three terrorists and the rescue of 84 kidnapped victims who have since been handed over to local authorities,” he said.
In Zamfara State, security forces acted on intelligence reports about terrorist activities in Bagabuzu, Faru District in Maradun Local Government Area, eliminating seven terrorists and recovering a motorcycle.
Additionally, 17 kidnapped victims were freed from Tsibiri and Doka villages in Shinkafi Local Government Area and are currently receiving medical attention.
Operation Hadarin Daji urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies in the fight against terrorism in the region.
