Troops Foil ISWAP Attempted Attack On Military Base In Yobe

Security source has confirmed to AljazirahNigeria that two fighter helicopters of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Tuesday foiled a terrorist attack on Ngamdu, a border town between Yobe and Borno States.

The source said that the ISWAP elements stormed the town in MRAP and gun trucks.

The resident of the area who spoke with AljazirahNigeria, said that the terrorists had attempted to attack a miilitary base in the area before they were stopped by the troops who had been put on red alert.

According to our correspondent , the attack planned by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters was repelled by the Miilitary helicopters, supported by troops of Super Camp in Ngamdu.

Mainwhile, “We actually laid an ambush on them when we learnt from the intelligence of the route they would use. They accessed Ngamdu town via Goniri-Damboa axis in about a dozen vehicles including MRAP and Guntrucks.
