Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma eliminated a notorious bandit kingpin, Yusuf Gwamna, during a fierce encounter in Dutsin-Ma area of Katsina State.
Intelligence sources informed Zagazola Makama yesterday that several terrorists were also neutralized in the operation.
Gwamna had been a high-profile criminal, orchestrating numerous attacks, kidnappings and violent crimes across Katsina and neighbouring states.
His reign of terror had instilled fear among local communities, making his elimination a significant victory in the ongoing fight against banditry.
