Tinubu Approves Conversion Of Nasarawa Specialist Clinic To Teaching Hospital

Date:

President Bola Tinubu has approved the takeover and conversion of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia, Nasarawa State, into the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital.

This decision followed a request by the state government and is part of the administration’s broader effort to improve healthcare and medical education across Nigeria.

This was stated in a communiqué signed by the Special Adviser to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, yesterday.

The statement was titled, ‘Tinubu Approves Takeover and Conversion of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital, Nasarawa.’

Ngelale said, “Recurring environmental disasters underscore the urgency of sustaining measures to address climate change and its perils, as well as removing man-made elements contributing to the challenge.”

He noted that the administration will continue to invest aggressively in the healthcare sector to meet the needs of all citizens.

The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the takeover and conversion of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital, Nasarawa, following a request by the Nasarawa State government.

“The conversion of the health facility to a federal teaching hospital will not only enhance the training of students in medical and allied sciences but also boost healthcare delivery in the state.

“President Tinubu remains committed to ensuring the social welfare and healthcare security of Nigerians and will aggressively sustain his administration’s investment drive and efforts in the sector.”
