Tonye Iyade Bags APRCN’s UN Eminent Ambassador Award

Sylvester Tonye Iyade has received the United Nations Eminent Ambassador Award from the Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria (APRCN) and Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria (Chartered Forensic Institute) for his efforts in promoting sustainability globally.

Iyade was conferred the prestigious award on Saturday, during the 5th Mandatory Continuing Professional Development ceremony of the APRCN, in partnership with the Awedu Institute of Business Management and Leadership (AIBML) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, following his collaborations with international organizations, governments, and civil society to promote peace and sustainable development.

Keynote Speaker at the event, Dr. Alex Balogun, CEO of VIP Consults, highlighted strategic business management in the digital age as a way of leveraging digital technologies to drive business growth, innovation, and competitiveness.

AIBML Registrar-General, Amb. (Dr.) N.B. King David urged APRCN’s UN Eminent Ambassadorial Awardees to work to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and advocate for policies and actions that protect the planet for future generations.

“These individuals would collaborate with governments, corporations, and organizations to drive positive change and inspire others to take action in their communities.

“They would use their platform and influence to highlight the interconnectedness of social, environmental, and economic issues and the importance of taking a holistic approach to building a more sustainable future,” he said.

On his part, Iyade expressed gratitude for the ambassadorial award, assuring that he would continue to work tirelessly. “This recognition is not just about me but about the collective impacts individuals can make in society,” he said.

His Ambassadorial appointment is a testament to his legacies and is focused on fostering advancement opportunities in international relations, diplomacy, and development.

The event gathered top professionals in both the public and private sectors.

Other notable awardees included Chief Joseph Raymond, Elder Monday Enudi, Eki-Ogbini Samuel, Gberekoo Lebe, and Chief Amb. Dr. Raphael Okey Victor.
