Suspected Terrorists Attack Borno Village

Suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have attacked a remote village in the southern part of Borno State, in Northeast region source said.

According to the community of the area who comfirmed to AljazirahNigeria that the suspected members of insurgents stormed Shallangba near Debiro in the Hawul Local Government Area of the state on six Hilux vans, opened fire sporadically while many villagers fled into the bush.

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF),  added that the insurgents overpowered the local hunters in the village.

AljazirahNigeria could recall that on Sunday evening, insurgents had invaded Debiro communities which shares boundaries with Biu and Hawul local government areas of Borno.

As at time of filing this report, no official statement has been made both by military or civilians JTF.
