Nigerian Super Eagles barber, Joshua Aiyenuro popularly known as T-Jos, has clocked 73 hours, breaking the previous Guinness World Record for the longest haircut marathon.

The event, currently taking place at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, has drawn attention from across the country, with supporters and well-wishers turning out in numbers to cheer him on.

T-Jos, who is also the official barber of the Nigerian national team, began the challenge on Monday, June 10, and has shown remarkable resilience and focus as he aims to carve his name into the record books. The previous record for the longest haircut marathon stands at 72 hours and 40 minutes.

As of the time of filing this report, a video obtained by AljazirahNigeria showed that T-Jos has clocked 73 hours 34 minutes, surpassing the previous record.

The barber aims to reach a new mark of 154 hours, expressing his desire to use the platform to promote skill acquisition, youth empowerment, and job creation through the barbing profession.

The haircut-a-thon has also received backing from various organisations, including the African Civil Society Forum (AFRICSOF), and public figures who see the event as a positive step toward youth-led innovation and entrepreneurship.
