State Defence Minister Matawalle Hosts Key Zamfara Politicians In Abuja

Date:

Dr. Bello Matawalle, former Governor of Zamfara State and current Minister of Defence, welcomed key political leaders from Zamfara to his office in Abuja on Monday, in a move highlighting growing political alignment in the region.

Among those present were Engr. Sulaiman Abubakar Gummi, a member of the House of Representatives for the Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency, and Hon. Kabiru Yahaya, former representative for the Mafara/Anka Constituency in the National Assembly.

Hon. Yahaya, who recently made headlines by defecting from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), was accompanied by Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, the APC Chairman for Zamfara State. Yahaya’s defection is seen as a boost to the APC’s growing influence in the state.

The meeting underscores the strengthening of political ties in Zamfara, as local leaders and stakeholders align with the APC, reflecting a broader effort to foster unity and support for national development.

The Minister expressed his enthusiasm for the increasing political cohesion, stressing the importance of collaboration across party lines to achieve sustainable progress in the country.

Matawalle reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, security, and economic growth in Zamfara State, highlighting the need for continued focus on addressing the aspirations of the people and ensuring their needs are met.

The meeting is viewed as a strategic step in reinforcing APC’s presence in the region, as political figures unite in support of shared goals for national development.
