Sokoto Trains Facilitators On Community Sensitisation Against GBV, Others

Sokoto State government has commenced a two-day training programme for facilitators on community sensitisation on social norms, Gender-Based Violence, GBV, and referral modalities. 

The training, organised by  AGILE Project, was officially opened yesterday by the Director of Administration, Abubakar  Salame on behalf of the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Ahmed Ala. 

In his opening remarks, Professor Ala reaffirmed the commitment of the state government under Governor  Aliyu  to education.

He highlighted key initiatives such as school renovations, timely payment of cash allocations to principals and various  reforms aimed at improving the education sector.

In his welcome address, the Deputy Project Coordinator, Dr Kabir  Gobir urged the participants to fully engage in the training, emphasising the importance of acquiring and disseminating knowledge on GBV and harmful social norms to their respective communities as contained in a statement by the Information Officer, Ibrahim Iya.
