Corps Members have been charged to shun all forms of bigotry, stereotypes and biases while carrying out their national service.
This charge was made by the Director Media, NYSC Directorate Headquarters Abuja, Mr. Emeka-Rems Mgbemena, who visited the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Boro town, Bayelsa State.
Mr. Mgbemena emphasised that NYSC is a tool for national development, integration, peace, and unity.
He requested the Corps members to imbibe the virtues of tolerance, patriotism, sense of community development and be good ambassadors of the Scheme.
The Director further advised the Corps members to be security conscious, avoid travelling at night, attending night parties, and respect the cultures as well as learn the languages of their host communities.
He further emphasised the importance of the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme in creating wealth and combating the endless search for white-collar jobs.
Earlier, the Bayelsa State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, welcomed the Director, briefed him on the camp activities, and commended the Corps Members for their high level of discipline and comportment.
