Thanksgiving service to commemorate the 73rd birthday of President Bola Tinubu took place at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Wuse Zone 3 Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume said the birthday calls for thanksgiving to God for sparing the life of the president and giving him the opportunity to serve the people.
Akume said the president has shown commitment to ensure that Nigeria is restored to the path of progress, prosperity and development, hence the resolve to take hard decisions which come with some pains.
He, however, thanked Nigerians for their support, prayers and understanding so far, assuring that very soon, they will benefit from the outcome of the reforms.
In his remarks, the Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong said the birthday of the president is another opportunity to reflect on God’s faithfulness upon him over the years.
Lalong said Tinubu has dedicated his life to service and has continued to demonstrate leadership in the implementation of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
Executive Secretary of NCPC, Bishop Stephen Adegbite also appreciated Nigerians for praying for the president and the nation, urging them to sustain their prayers for the future of the country.
A birthday cake was cut to mark the occasion.
