Senate Accuses Auditor General Of Instutionalizing Corruption In Nigeria

The Senate Committee on public Account has accused the Auditor General of Federation of instutionalizing corruption in Nigeria.

The Committee at the budget defence accused the Auditor General of poor performance and negligence of it’s statutory responsibilities.

Senator Orhihide, the chairman of the committee disclosed that N850m set aside for overhead in the 2020 budget only # 680 m was expended.

While N37m for the renovation of Audit House has been stashed in the Bank while the structure wastes away.

The Committee also accuse the Auditor General of hoarding money voted for Capital project and overhead, saying this largely accounted for the prevailing corruption and fraud in MDAs
