Senator Peter Ndalikali Jiya, representing Niger South Senatorial District ,Zone A, on the platform of Peoples Democratic party, PDP, has provided a fully equipped ICT centre to the Niger State College of Agriculture, Mokwa.
The official handing over of the Center was at the College premises.
The lawmaker said he has taken the initiative to boost the Agricultural revolution of the zone.
He explained that his initiative was to ugment the existing farming occupation by the people of the zone through the technical knowhow of the institution in the modern way of farming.
Jiya, who was represented at the occasion by the Secretary of the party in the state, Barrister Suleiman Zhigun, formally handed over the Centre to the college management on his behalf.
Zhigun commended the senator for his continued commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of the Zone, particularly the execution of several infrastructural and human capital development projects across the zone by the Senator for almost two years.
He further assured the people of the zone that Senator Jiya remains focused as more projects are in the pipe line to reach out to every nook and crannies of the constituency, urged the management of the institution to adhered to maintainance culture of the facilities.
Our Correspondent reports that the ICT centre is fully powered by solar energy to enable the center functions effectively even without electricity,it is an innovation that guarantees students and staff to have smooth learning and productivity.
The Centre is also attached with a large plasma TV connected to the system,to be used for various educational purposes such as Zoom meetings, online lectures, virtual trainings, and multimedia presentations.
In his address at the occasion the acting Deputy Provost,Dr. A.A. Garba, expressed gratitude for the kind intervention,stressed that the donation would no doubt enhance learning, research, and administrative operations within the institution.
