Rotary Clubs in Kaduna yesterday performed the ground breaking ceremony for Peace Centre at the Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Barnawa.
The Rotary Clubs, while laying the blocks for the building, said the project is in partnership with the Neuro Psychiatric Hospital which will be biding by a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU.
According to the Rotary Clubs comprising Club of Barnawa, Kaduna Gold, Kaduna Queens, Kawo, Kaduna, Kakuri, Gonin – Gora, Kaduna-Metropolitan and Samaru – Zaria, the Centre will offer people the opportunity to improve their mental health whenever they are stressed.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony, the Medical Director, Dr Aishatu Armiya’u disclosed that Rotary Clubs have been veritable partners.
The medical director, who was represented by the Head of Clinical Services, Dr Nafisah Hayyatudeen assured the Rotary Clubs in Kaduna of the Neuro Psychiatric Hospital’s readiness for more collaboration.
While thanking Rotary for identifying with the hospital, the medical director was optimistic of proper utilisation of the project when completed.
In their separate remarks, the Zonal Coordinator and Assistant Zonal Coordinator of the Rotary Clubs, Rotarians Florence Gbande and Victor Majekodunmi disclosed that the relationship with Neuro Psychiatric Hospital has been cordial.
Meanwhile, the duo explained that the Centre will foster a sense of calm and stability, allowing individuals to experience lower levels of stress and better mental health.
