House of Representatives has announced the postponement of its plenary resumption, previously scheduled for Tuesday, January 28.
In a statement issued Friday by the House spokesman, Akin Rotimi, the new date for resumption is Tuesday, February 4.
Rotimi, who represents Ikole/Oye Federal Constituency of Ekiti State, noted that the change of resumption date “Was communicated to members through an internal memorandum issued by the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Dr Yahaya Danzaria, on the directive of the House leadership.”
The statement noted that the postponement “is necessary to allow committees sufficient time to conclude ongoing budget engagements and defences with Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs. This measure ensures a comprehensive approach to legislative responsibilities.”
It reiterated the commitment of the Green Chamber to fulfill its legislative mandate for the benefit of Nigerians at all times.
