United International Peace and Governance Council, UNIPGC Canada, is set to award Favour Ego Robinson as the recipient of the esteemed UNIPGC Peace Leadership Award for Excellence in Journalism.
This distinguished honour recognises Robinson’s exceptional contributions to the field of journalism, displaying her firm commitment to promoting peace, understanding, and social justice.
The second edition of the Global Peace Leadership Summit and Awards, scheduled for October 25, 2024, at the Brampton Conservatory Hall, is organised by UNIPGC Canada in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Peace & Governance (CIPG), USA, and the American University of Peace and Governance (AUPG), USA.
Favour Ego Robinson, who is the CEO of Style and Glamour Media, formerly worked with Echoes Media as the Business Development Manager and Anchor for popular TV program, Echoes from the Valley. Her nomination follows her years of unflinching effort towards promoting peace and social justice through journalism.
Reacting to her nomination, she said, “I am humbled that I will be gracing the stage come October 25 with highly placed individuals from around the world.
“For me, this is a call to action to do more. The world needs peace, and as such I am committed to continue in my crusade, to ensure that peace takes centre stage.”
Past honorees include prominent figures such as Lord Shaun Bailey, member of the British Parliament; Prof. David Francis, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sierra Leone; and Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, Zambia’s Minister of Trade and Investment. This year’s summit will feature keynote speeches from distinguished personalities including H.E. Chief (Dr.) Jewel Howard Taylor, former Vice President of Liberia, and H.E. Dhadho Godhana, Executive Governor of Tana River County, Kenya.
The Global Peace Leadership Summit serves as a vital platform for addressing the underlying causes of conflict and promoting the principles of democracy and inclusive societies. Aligned with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, the summit seeks to chart a course for sustaining global peace and enhancing democratic processes worldwide.
