Reject Intimidation From APC,Wike Urges Gov Ortom

Rivers’ State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Tuesday, reaffirmed the confidence of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP), leadership in Governor Samuel Ortom’s, unshakable loyalty to the party despite unsuccessful attempts from different quarters to lure the Benue number one citizen back to the APC.

Wike, who was in Makurdi on the invitation of Governor Samuel Ortom, to commission some road projects in the state constructed by his administration during separate speeches while inaugurating the Customary Court of Appeal- Nyor Igungu, road in Makurdi and the 45km Imande Akpu- Gbajimba, road in Guma Local Government Area acknowledged the doggedness and the ability of his Benue counterpart to stand with his people in order to ensure adequate security of lives and property as well as the provision of critical infrastructure to the people irrespective of challenges.

He commended Governor Ortom, for demonstrating an uncommon political sagacity by choosing to stand with his people even in the wake of attacks by suspected herdsmen describing the Benue governor as a promoter of peace, justice, equity and fair play and above all a defender of not only Benue people but the downtrodden.

Governor Wike, expressed appreciation to the Benue governor for the honor done him to commission projects meant for the development of Benue State describing the projects as best legacies to leave behind for the people.

The Rivers State Governor who expressed confidence that Benue people will always support Ortom, to enable him do more for the development of the state in the face of lean resources also encouraged the governor not to relent in resisting Intimidation and as well stand firm in protecting the Benue people from external forces.

In an address, governor Ortom, acknowledged the commitment of his River’s state, counterpart Nyesom Wike, for always speaking against injustice both in Benue and the country recalling that Benue and River’s state’s for long shared same political ideologies dating back to the JS Tarka and Aper Aku, political era which championed the cause of minorities in the country and assured that he would always stand for the truth by speaking against injustice.

Governor Ortom, who said his decision to embark on massive road’s construction was to fulfill his social contract with the electorates and also add value to the lives of Benue people commended Governor Wike, for his presence to commission the projects describing him as not only a true friend who always show love by standing with Benue people in storm and times of critical needs also stressed that both himself and governor Wike, also share same views against inpunity and operation.
