Real shops for Zidane’s replacement

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is out to seek a replacement for Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane, according to report.

With Real Madrid stumbling in the La Liga, the pressure is mounting on Zidane as Perez has made contact with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for a possible switch to take over the Bernabeu hot seat.

While the Frenchman retains the president’s support, Diario Gol says he has begun testing the ground for potential successors.

The Real Madrid chief has enquired about Mourinho returning to Bernabeu, though the Portuguese response was negative, he is not interested in leaving United for the second stint with Los Blancos.

Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino and German coach Joachim Low are other candidates that interest Perez.

Real Madrid will be up against Pochettino’s men on Wednesday at the Wembley, Perez will get another close look at the Argentine management skills.

Pochettino is one of the main candidates for the job should Zidane fail to turn things around for the European Champions.
