The Zinariya of Lokoja, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has extended her condolences to the victims of the CNG truck explosion, which took many lives, with several injured and properties lost.
Dr Aliyu also sent her comforting message to the minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike and the FCT Administration, adding that such a loss was indeed a demoralising one.
In a condolence message on Friday, she said: “I am deeply heartbroken by the tragic loss of lives and properties resulting from the CNG tanker explosion in Abuja on Wednesday, 19th March 2025, by Karu Bridge along the Abuja-Keffi Highway.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to the Minister of FCT, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike – CON, GSSRS, and the entire Federal Capital Territory Administration.
“I also commiserate with the families of the deceased and the injured, as well as those whose businesses and properties have been affected due to this demoralising incident.”
According to her, the tragedy is a call to action for road users, especially heavy-duty drivers, to prioritise safety measures before hitting the roads.
She therefore wished the injured quick recovery, while praying for those who lost their lives.
“This unfortunate incident underscores the need for enhanced safety measures, particularly among drivers transporting hazardous materials. To prevent such tragedies in the future, drivers must prioritise safety above all else, and ensure that their vehicles are in good working condition before embarking on any journey.
“May this tragic incident serve as a catalyst for improved safety measures, and I pray that the Almighty grants the departed souls eternal rest and gives their families and loved ones the strength to bear this profound loss,” she said.
