Protest: Yobe CP Calls For Caution Amidst Security Challenges

Yobe State Police Commissioner, Mr Garba Ahmed has urged residents to exercise caution and think twice before joining any protest.

The commissioner, in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, said Yobe is not prepared to face additional security challenges considering the recent rise in insurgency, especially in Gujba Local Government Area.

According to the statement, the command has received intelligence report that insurgents plan to exploit the planned protests to execute heinous acts.

He warned clandestine groups plotting to destabilise the state and hoodlums seeking to exploit protests for criminal agenda to desist.

Garba also commended Yobeans for their cooperation in maintaining law and order and urged continued support for security agencies in restoring peace and stability to foster economic growth in the state.
