Police To Arraign 27 Armed Robbers, Kidnappers Arrested In Benue

The Benue State Police Command has perfected arrangements to commence the prosecution of 27 suspected armed robbers and Kidnapper’s who were arrested by men of the command on patrol for committing various criminal offences during the Christmas and New Year festive periods.

Benue State Police Commissioner Mr. Mukaddas Mohammed disclosed this Thursday while parading the suspected criminals to journalists at the police headquarters in Makurdi.

According to Mr. Mohammed, 205 live ammunitions, one vehicle and nine motorcycles were recovered from the robbers.

Similarly, the commissioner further revealed that the police last Thursday, arrested 3 persons whose names were given as Yogbo Terhile, Tyough Aondowase and Samuel Iorbee, who specialize in snatching of motorcycles from unsuspecting members of the public around the Gboko axis of the state adding that nine motorcycles were recovered from the hoodlums during the operation.

Mr. Mohammed, also disclosed that his men last Friday also arrested another gang of 3 criminals Aondona Gbakaan, Akase Sughnen and Terkimbi Orjime all of Konshiaha Street Makurdi for falsely collecting the sun of #200,000,00 from a complainant who he said they threatened to kill  on failure to pay the said amount.

The Commissioner commended the people of the state for always volunteering useful information which has led to the arrest of the suspects and urged them to sustain the tempo.

Mr. Mohammed who advised those who’s motorcycles were snatched to come to the police headquarters in Makurdi for possible identification and collection also assured the public that those in custody will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations were completed.
