Ebonyi State Police Command has apprehended Ezeoke Chidera, native of Egugho Ezzagu in Ishielu Local Government Area for allegedly killing a septuagenarian, Mrs Awoke Rose.
According to a statement made available to newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Joshua Ukandu said the command is currently investigating the motive behind the brazen attack.
The statement noted that the suspect lived in the same compound with the victim. He allegedly hit the deceased several times with a shovel and abandoned her in a pool of her blood.
It reads, “On June 2 at about 0600hrs, we received a report that Ezeoke Chidera, who lives in the same compound with Mrs Awoke Rose, “F” aged about 60 at Egugho Ezzagu in Ishielu Local Government Area, attacked the deceased, hitting her several times with a shovel and abandoned her in a pool of her blood.
“Officers were able to apprehend the suspect and the command is currently investigating to understand the motive behind the brazen attack.”
