Police Arrest 59 Armed Robbery Suspects, Drug Dealers In Kano

Kano State Police Command have arrested 59 suspects for various offences ranging from armed robbery, theft and dealing on illicit drugs within the period of Takutaha; about two days back. The Command’s PPRO, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa has revealed Thursday.


All the suspects from Kano Metropolis were arrested with arms, other dangerous weapons, stolen items and large quantity of illicit drugs.

They will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

Kiyawa said the arrest was made possible in line with the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman on Community-based policing, Operation Puff Adder, and the Command’s efforts to rid Kano State of all forms of crimes and criminality, especially the menace of thuggery, drug abuse and other social vices.

The state Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, called on all criminals including thugs and drug dealers to repent, or leave the state completely.

He warned that they will be arrested and face the full wrath of the law, urging residents to report incidences to the nearest Police Station and not to take the laws into their hands.

Rigorous patrol and raids of criminals’ hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State, as the Command will sustain the tempo in ensuring safety of lives and properties, the police assured.
