Police Arrest 35 Suspected Thugs During Maulud Festival In Kano

The Kano state Police command has arrested and paraded some suspected local thugs non as Yan-daba, during Maulud celebration known as Takutaha.

The suspects were carrying large quantity of dangerous weapons and Illicit drugs, which were recovered.

The Kano state Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko had declared war against drug dealers and thugs.

In line with the directives and guidance of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, who gave directive to  every Community-based policing and operation Puff Adder, and in the command’s efforts to rid Kano state of all forms of crimes and criminality.

Thuggery, drug abuse and other social vices, clearance operations carried out by the command within the Takutaha event period which led to the arrest of 59 suspects for offences ranging from armed robbery, dealings with illicit drugs.

He thanked the good people of Kano state for their continuous support and cooperation, also urged residents to pray for the state, and the Nation.
He added that, to report any suspicion  incidences to the nearest police station and not to take laws into their hands. 

Rigorous patrol and raids of criminals’ hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the state, as the command will sustain the tempo in ensuring safety of lives and properties.
