Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects and recovered stolen property after raiding a criminal hideout in Uyo metropolis.
The police spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, who disclosed this in a statement in Uyo on Monday, said the suspects were apprehended when operatives of the command raided a criminal hideout at Udi Street, Uyo, on May 23.
John said the breakthrough followed credible intelligence.
The spokesperson said the police recovered 14 sewing machines and a power generator during the operation.
“Two persons who approached the command have already identified their machines among the recovered items,” she said.
John added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
She stated that the Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, is committed to ridding Akwa Ibom of crime and criminals.
