Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi visited victims of the recent attacks on communities in Bokkos Local Government of Plateau State.
Obi commiserated with the victims of the deadly attacks that claimed dozens of lives and displaced entire communities.
The Labour Party leader, who shared details of his visit via his official X handle on Monday, said he traveled from Abuja to Jos before proceeding to Bokkos, where he met the survivors, including displaced children affected by the violence.
Describing the attacks as “senseless killings,” the former Anambra State governor lamented the loss of innocent lives in a nation not at war.
Obi, who called for renewed efforts to restore peace and security, extended his condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the people of Plateau State.
During the visit, he announced a donation of N7.5 million to support displaced children, help sustain their education and meet other immediate needs.
He also noted that the ‘Obidient Movement’ had previously provided a borehole for clean water at the IDP camp.
The former presidential candidate emphasised the need for leadership driven by compassion, saying Nigerians must not be forced to live in fear or flee their homes due to violence.
